Geoffrey Staniford’s practice encompasses patent preparation and prosecution, infringement and validity analysis including the preparation of formal opinions, and intellectual property litigation. Mr. Staniford also specializes in counseling emerging growth companies with respect to IP portfolio development and management. Mr. Staniford has extensive experience in a wide range of technologies in the electrical engineering field, including: analog and digital circuit design, operating systems, database and application software, semiconductor fabrication, network devices and transmission technology, commercial and surgical grade medical devices, laser and optic systems, renewable energy technology, and nuclear assay systems.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Staniford worked as a systems engineer in the aerospace and computer industry and specialized in assembly language programming and porting real time operating systems to high performance, single-board computers.
Mr. Staniford received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 1989 and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1996. He is a member of the California Bar and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
