Igor Shoiket - Partner

Igor Shoiket advises clients involved in intellectual property litigation and related disputes in a wide variety of industries.  Mr. Shoiket applies a broad range of technical expertise to his legal practice, and prior to attending law school, he was a lab biochemist and an analytical laboratory manager for the Bio-Rad Laboratories Life Sciences Group for nine years.  He has served as lead counsel on a number of complex patent infringement cases in federal district courts and before the U.S. International Trade Commission, with a particular emphasis on patent litigation and trial practice in the biotechnology, electrical, and mechanical fields.  Mr. Shoiket also has broad experience in products liability defense, with an emphasis on medical devices and pharmaceuticals.  

Mr. Shoiket earned his Bachelor of Arts in Immunology, Microbiology, and Genetics from the University of California, Berkeley and his Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the University of San Francisco School of Law.  He is a member of the California Bar and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.  He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Central, and Southern Districts of California, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Court of Appeals of the Federal Circuit.  He has authored publications and made presentations on a number of intellectual property issues and is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Bar Association of San Francisco, and the San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Association.
