Lawrence M. Lau focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution. Mr. Lau has represented clients in software and Internet-based technologies, medical devices, and consumer products. Before attending law school, he was a product manager at Oracle Corporation and an Internet startup, where he developed collaboration software for the professional services industries.

Mr. Lau received his Bachelor of Science and Masters degree in Civil Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and Stanford University, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law. He graduated with honors from law school and received a CALI Award for Excellence in Antitrust and Intellectual Property Law. During law school, Mr. Lau was a judicial extern for Judge William Alsup of the United States District Court for Northern California.

Mr. Lau is admitted to practice in California and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Association.
